We are a family of 7 from Fort Collins, Colorado, who will be travelling around the world for the next year.Since there are seven of us in our Coppin family, we decided to name the blog "journey of the 7 c's" as a play on words. My name is Caroline and my husband is Justin. Justin is an electrical engineer and a native of Colorado. I was born and raised in Hawaii and have lived in Colorado for the last 18 years. I was a French teacher and I am now a stay-at-home mom We have 5 children, Rachel-20, Caleb-12, Joel-11, Danielle-9 and our youngest Eden-2. For the last 2 1/2 years, my husband and I have discussed our dream of dropping everything and travelling around the world. We spent many hours trying to figure out a way we could actually pull it off. Well, about 5 months ago, after Justin's mom passed away, we said, stop talking about it or let's go. Since we like talking about it so much we decided to take a leap of faith and go. We have a long list of reasons why we wanted to have this experience and here are just a few of them. We would like our kids to experience life outside of their "bubble". We want them to see the different ways people live and teach them the value of diversity. We would also like them to see that you can find joy in life without having it revolve around material things. Justin and I have always liked to travel, but having only one or two weeks here and there makes it hard to have a fully enriching experience. We are hoping that being able to take a year to travel will give us more time to discover places and people. Another reason, was to honor Justin's mom. Before settling down and marrying, she traveled all over the world and got to work in a few different countries. It was an experience that she loved to share with others and took much pleasure in telling her stories of amazing places and incredible people she met along the way. In this blog we will be sharing not only the places we go and things we do, but also what it took to get here. There were a lot of logistics involved and tons of research. We want to share what we learned with others so that we might inspire someone else to try this.
So proud of you. We love you. Brittany symanitz
